Front-end Web Development & UI Design

I am a Front-end Web Developer & User Interface Designer specialising in standards based (X)HTML, CSS, and JS for websites and Java Software Applications.

Skills include:

  • Designing and building web interfaces that focus on the user experience
  • Structuring them with semantic standards based HTML markup
  • Branding them with highly maintainable cross browser, cross platform CSS
  • Adding interaction with intelligent use of maintainable object oriented DOM scripting and AJAX
  • Utilising the best that JavaScript libraries can offer, predominantly with YAHOO's UI but with experience of DWR, Prototype, Script.aculo.us and jQuery

Primarily a user interface developer, but a developer with an eye for design, comfortable using Photoshop to produce templates, or Omnigraffe to build visual wireframes. Also a developer with experience of scripting languages (PHP, JSP, JSTL), database management (MySQL, Oracle, Sybase) and confguring web servers. A Mac user with commercial experience in a creative design consultancy and a software engineering environment, with enthusiasm taking responsibility and a strategic lead in enhancing web applications.
